The Fargo Way of Doing Business

Built for a Red River Valley Winter

Fargo winters are long and hard: January averages land in the single digits, wind sweeps across the flat valley with nothing to stop it, and the freeze reaches deep into the ground. That cold is behind a lot of the repairs we see, from frozen outdoor faucets to doors knocked out of square by frost. We work with it in mind, using exterior-rated hardware and sealants that stay flexible in the cold and making repairs that still hold after a February cold snap, not just through a mild October.

A Clear Quote Before We Start

You get a plain price before any tools come out, built from a few photos or a quick look at the job. No padded hours and no mystery line items at the end. When a job proves easier than it looked, the price drops, and when opening a wall reveals a bigger issue, we pause, show you and decide the next step together.

Your Whole List in One Visit

Skip lining up a separate tradesperson for each chore and give us the whole list instead. We show up with a stocked van and work straight down it: the door that sticks every spring, the running toilet, the TV that needs mounting, the fan that should replace that dim bedroom light, the gutter that iced over last winter. One booking, one visit, and the list gets shorter.

Neighbors on Both Sides of the River

We work in Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead every week and deal with the same blizzards, road construction seasons and spring flood watches you do. When we say Tuesday morning, we mean Tuesday morning. Since we live and work here too, a quick call brings us back if anything we did needs another look.

Handyman Service Across Fargo, ND

Fargo is North Dakota's largest city, home to about 126,000 people in the 2020 census and the anchor of a metro that spills across the Red River into Minnesota. It sits on some of the flattest land in the country, the old bed of glacial Lake Agassiz, and its housing reads like a timeline laid out from the river westward and southward. Near downtown and the river, Hawthorne, Roosevelt and the blocks around NDSU hold Victorian houses, foursquares and brick homes from the 1880s through the 1920s, many with plaster walls and original woodwork. Next come the bungalows and story-and-a-half houses of the 1920s through 1950s, then postwar ranches and split-levels, then the 1970s and 1980s homes along 25th Street and 32nd Avenue South. South Fargo kept going from there, with Rose Creek in the 1990s, Osgood in the 2000s and newer streets around 52nd Avenue South and beyond. On a single day we can be patching hundred-year-old plaster near Island Park in the morning and mounting a TV in a two-year-old twin home off Veterans Boulevard that afternoon.

Daily life in Fargo runs along a handful of lines: I-29 north and south, I-94 east and west, and the busy arterials of 13th Avenue South, 45th Street, 25th Street and University Drive. Downtown has Broadway, the Fargo Theatre and a revived riverfront, NDSU and the Fargodome sit on the north side, and West Acres and the Red River Zoo are out by the interstates. Parks follow the river, from Trollwood and Island Park to Lindenwood, and in spring the whole city watches the river gauge.

What Fargo neighbors book most

Jobs we handle a lot in Fargo

A typical week in Fargo covers a lot of ground: drywall cracks and nail pops from clay soil movement and dry winter air, doors that stick in spring and rattle in January, gutters full of elm and ash leaves, outdoor faucets frozen and split, fence posts heaved out of line by frost, ceiling fans and light fixtures installed, TVs mounted in new builds, and make-ready punch lists for landlords between tenants near NDSU.

Questions we hear around Fargo

Do you cover the whole city?

Yes. That means the north side, from Longfellow, Washington and Madison up toward Trollwood Park and the airport; the core around downtown, Hawthorne, Roosevelt and Horace Mann; the south side through Clara Barton, Lewis and Clark, Centennial and Bennett; and the newer neighborhoods of Rose Creek, Osgood, Brunsdale and Village West. If you have a Fargo address, we've almost certainly worked nearby.

Can you work in my apartment or condo building?

Yes. Downtown condo buildings and larger apartment complexes often want a certificate of insurance on file, work kept to set hours and a heads-up about where we'll park and unload. Send us the building's requirements when you book and we'll plan around them so one visit covers the whole list.

Do you help landlords turn over rentals near NDSU?

Yes. Between tenants we patch and touch up walls, fix doors, locks and hardware, repair faucets and running toilets, replace blinds, smoke alarms and light fixtures, and clear the small items an inspection might flag. Let us know when you get the keys and we'll schedule the work around that date.
